The perfect rich and creamy, soft and yummy cookie!

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chunks or chips

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.

Using an electric mixer, cream together the butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla and blend well. Mix in the dry ingredients until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips by hand.

Lightly grease 2 cookie sheets. Drop the batter by rounded teaspoonfuls onto the cookie sheets, about 2-inches apart.

Bake for 12 to 14 minutes or until golden. Transfer the cookies to wire racks to cool.
