In the true Southern Style, this Cobbler is full of juicy fruit and fabulous flavor!

  • 4 cups peeled, sliced peaches
  • 2 cups cherries, pitted or blueberries
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cups self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch of salt

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Combine the peaches & blueberries, 1 cup sugar and the water in a saucepan.  Bring to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes.

Put the butter in a deep baking dish and place the dish in the oven to melt the butter.

In a mixing bowl whisk together the remaining ½ cup sugar with the flour, milk, vanilla and salt. Mix until well combined and no clumps exist.  Pour the batter over the melted butter in the baking dish and DO NOT STIR. Spoon the fruit mixture on top of the batter, gently pouring in the syrup. (The batter will rise to the top during baking.)  Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden and puffed.

Serve with a big dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of old-fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream.
