Serving a dessert made with honey ensures success and happiness in the coming year.

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 T. honey
  • 1/4 cup orange marmalade
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 3 large green apples- peeled, cored and sliced
  • vanilla ice cream

In a large sauce pot combine the sugar, honey, marmalade and juice. Place over medium heat and stir constantly until the sugar and marmalade have dissolved. Bring the syrup to a full boil over high heat, then reduce the heat to a simmer and cook just until the sauce begins to thicken, about 3 minutes. Add the apples to the syrup
and toss to coat. Simmer, covered, until the apples are soft, about 10 minutes. Serve warm over ice cream.
