  • 5 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 T. almond extract
  • 1 loaf (10 oz.) Italian or French bread, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 9 oz. bittersweet chocolate, chopped into pieces
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

 

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, milk and almond extract until well blended. Gently stir in the bread cubes, chocolate chunks and almonds.

Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch baking pan, sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 325 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until the mixture is set. Serve warm.
