I had a really great Burger this past week…Oh, and an incredible sandwich and some delicious onion rings and the Heirloom Tomato Ketchup on my fries was pretty delicious too! We ate at the new 8 OZ BURGER BAR on Melrose; Govind Armstrong's new casual eatery, located in the original digs of Table 8 Restaurant.

One of Orange County’s most admired restaurants is one of my favorites. Its charm, décor, food, presentation and impeccable service make it a food lover’s destination. And Bruno Serato, the proprietor, makes you feel like you never want to leave!
It had been too long. Too long since we soaked up the sunlight and rustic elegance of the lovely setting that houses Campanile, a building that was constructed in the 1920s for Charlie Chaplin. Its soaring ceilings, arched doorways and lovely tiled patio made our recent Brunch experience even more delicious.
It was a pleasure to celebrate Canaletto Newport Beach’s opening a couple of weeks ago! The decor is stunning, the oysters rocked (!) and their Mercato del Peche (seafood bar) is the perfect place to sit for cocktails and gifts from the sea. Their Prosecco List is most impressive and the service was attentive, gracious and knowledgeable.
Over twenty years ago a gentleman by the name of Don Myers helped start a restaurant chain that changed the way Southern Californian’s ate. It was called El Torito….and it was a hit. Changing the way people think about food is one of Don’s strengths. Creating restaurants that are warm, inviting and delicious, is his greater strength.
Every time I think about going to Yang Chow my mouth waters in anticipation of tasting so many delicious dishes on their menu. Everything you ever wanted from Chinese food is here....This is the real deal.

I have known James Hamamori since I was a little girl, eating sushi at his sushi bar, being told everything was “tuna fish”! We have both come a long way….I now shoot actual oysters and the quail egg is dropped into sake instead of tea (as a little girl, he always included me in the adult rituals!). And Hama-san has come to the forefront; now regarded as one of the finest Sushi Chef’s in Southern California and abroad.
